We are a boutique law firm devoted solely to the management of reputational risk.

We are recognised for securing outstanding results for our clients in high stakes matters. Prior to establishing the firm (previously known as Company Giles), Rebekah Giles was in partnership at a global disputes law firm with her mentor and collaborator over many decades, Patrick George.  A leader of the profession, George is widely regarded as a pre-eminent lawyer for high profile and sensitive disputes and acts as a trusted advisor to some of Australia’s most high-profile individuals.

George then reunited with Giles to form a formidable legal team together with experienced media lawyer Jeremy Marel as Special Counsel.

Their collective and extensive experience gives them exceptional insight into how a reputational threat is likely to unfold. They are uniquely placed to provide urgent advice and representation - free from the conflicts that restrain their competitors.

Giles George boasts a team of outstanding associates and wider support team to ensure that cases are handled effectively, sensitively and cost efficiently.

Rebekah Giles is internationally recognised for her expertise in reputational risk. She is praised for her skilled and considered handling of sensitive and complex legal matters.

Specialising primarily, in defamation and the management of reputational risk, Marel is passionate about seeking to preserve the balance which the law of defamation seeks to strike between the right to freedom of expression and the right to reputation, so that the public’s right to the former does not unfairly infringe upon the individual’s right to the latter.

He assists clients prior to and after publication – prior to publication, by providing advice to publishers to minimise defamation and other legal risk, or, on the other hand, assisting those who will be the subject of publications either to respond to journalist’s questions or to seek injunctive relief; after publication, by seeking to restore the defamed person’s reputation in court or through a negotiated resolution which vindicates their position.

His practice also covers complex commercial disputes and employment and insurance matters.

A highly regarded Special Counsel Jeremy Marel boasts a proven track record of obtaining outstanding results for clients.
